Stepping Into the Unknown

Stepping into the unknown can be scary. Whether it's going to school, starting a new job, buying a home, it's something that takes you out of your comfort zone. But with friends, family, and support persons, that comfort zone expands and you grow. You find that what once was scary, isn't so scary after all.

This is true in triathlon and distance running training, and more so when hiring a coach. It's scary at first, but you build a trust, and learn that they have your best interests at heart. They motivate you, cheer you on, watch over you to keep you healthy both mentally and physically, and sometimes have to tell you what you know is right, but don't want to hear (like not doing a particular race). You lean on them and they are there for you, every step of the way.

That's the way we like to coach at E11even Athletics. We want our athletes to be healthy, happy, and when they cross that finish line we love to hear "I could've went further". We know it's all a balancing act: work, family/friends, training. Life gets in the way sometimes and we are here to help you steer through all that and still be ready on race day.

If you, or someone you know is thinking about distance running or triathlon training but are afraid to take that first step out of their comfort zone, please contact us. We will be glad to meet and discuss all of the steps to be ready for that big day!

Live healthy, be happy
